Announcing Scott County’s First Community Choir:

Highland Harmony Community Chorus!

​

Directed by Jessica Rash, the choir is open to adults and teens (14 and up) who want to sing together in a large group.  All are welcome!  We will sing a variety of music including spirituals, folk, classical, traditional, sacred, and contemporary music.

​

Rehearsals are on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 7:00-8:30pm at First United Methodist Church, Oneida, TN.  First rehearsal/kickoff is Thursday, August 24, 7:00-8:30pm.

 

Annual dues for membership are $35/year for music and supplies. (Scholarships available based on need.)

About the director:

 

Jessica Rash is a local musician and teacher with a degree in Choral Music Education from Converse University in South Carolina where she taught public school music and chorus for 17 years. Jessica has a background in a variety of musical styles including classical, musical theatre, traditional folk, jazz, and barbershop in addition to advanced music theory studies and composition.  Jessica is a member of the American Choral Directors Association as well as the National Association for Music Education.  She is the pianist at First United Methodist Church in Oneida and teaches piano, voice, violin, ukulele, harp, cello, music theory and composition.  Jessica also serves on the board of The Appalachian Society of the Arts as the Co-Director of the Arts Education Committee.
